Bucs Video Clip of the Day!!
Pewter Video: Last Cleveland Game- 2002- Pittman runs! Nice Brad Johnson to Bill Schroeder combo that unfortunately, did not really develop during the regular season.
Click Here to Watch the Video FULL normal size....Michael Pittman shows his upper body strength in this clip as he evades a Browns defender in the first period the last time the Browns invaded Raymond James Stadium in 2002.
Throwback Video:Trick Play- Gary Anderson to Vinny to McDowell Were going to take a break from preseason clips for a little to bring you some Sam Foolery! Gary Anderson to Vinny Testeverde who tosses to a wide open Anthony McDowell for the TD and early 7-0 lead.

They used to say Sam Wyche would rather fool you than beat you. Well he fooled the San Francisco 49ers in 1992 with the help of this flea flicker play. The Bucs early lead shocked the 49ers, and kept the Bucs in close all game. They lost 21-14, and to be honest, makes you wonder how the 93-95 seasons would have gone had Vinny Testeverde stayed instead of Craig Erickson in those years.

Donald Penn is in the house!
Donald Penn has signed a nice 6 year 48 million dollar contract, and Josh Freeman can breathe a sigh of relief. Of course there are people out there now who will claim everything from Penn won to Dominik caved in. As if someone from the Bucs or Penn’s [...]

Big tongue rasberrys to all the negative nancys out there, part one.
Don’t worry Bucstoppers, there will MORE in the years to come.
Still think the Glazers are dirt poor and dont have money to spend on free agency? As opposed to maybe they just want to DEVELOP some great talent and retain it, then AUGMENT that [...]

What I wish people would understand, is that while most Bucs fans are quite knowledgeable when it comes to the game and current events, its downright silly and stupid to think anyone knows whats going on the inside.
Picture your own work situation. Whatever you do, Im sure the general public thinks they know how your work situation works. I work in restaurants, and I laugh at how people THINK they know what restaurants are all about. Pro Football is no different; we get our info from news outlets, but thats only the the BUCS want the News Outlets to know! Not more! Its impossible to assume we know enough about Donald Penn or Barrett Ruud to make up a decision on what the Bucs should do. Thats what those people get paid to do, which is make the tough decisions on [...]

It was dark at the beginning of that year. Expectations were high; the team finally ended double digit losses the season before, and were in the Playoff march until the last couple of weeks. With a better coach, and some new players, surely the Bucs would be more competitive this year.
Sound [...]

We all know the names; Lovie Smith, Herm Edwards, and Rod Marinelli. Certainly, these are very good people, great assistant coaches with the Bucs, who all went on to get Head Coaching opportunities years before Dungy himself got in the same time frame.
But really, none of these guys set the world of fire. Marinelli unfortunately will be remembered as the only winless coach in a season along with John McKay. Herm Edwards built up a good reputation only to take a job with KC and ruin it. Lovie Smith is close to being ousted in Chicago soon, although he at least made a Super Bowl appearance. [...]

John McKay was a well known Head Coach for the USC Trojans, and won 4 national Championships for USC, before agreeing to go to work for Hugh Culverhouse and the newest expansion team for the NFL, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. [...]

Paint them up. Give them new, more professional uniforms. Restructure their identity. With a new image, your Bucs could be a far better NFL outfit as soon as 1995. Let’s hope some rich, foresighted locals see similar promise, deciding to bag the Tampa Bay franchise that is up for sale. Keeping it here, in an improved Tampa Stadium. It’s got to get better. There are no more Culverhouses to goof it up. Tampa Bay deserves a break. Its NFL franchise deserves a break. You deserve a break. Pro football should be enjoyed, not loathed. Something our community hasn’t done much of since 1982. You deserve the opportunity.

You remember the talk; “Tampa Bay Buccaneers have never returned a Kick Off for a touchdown in XXXX number of attempts! Then one day, Michael Spurlock put an end to that, and since that day in 2007, two more guys have done it.
Thing is, not that much longer, the phrase wasnt “kickoff” but KICK, as in, of any kind! Tampa Bay was in its 18th year of existence and had never returned a KO or PUNT for a TD in its entire history. The attitude was pretty much the same as it was for the KO at the time; it should have been done by now. [...]

From 1983-1995, Tampa Bay had some of the worst secondary players ever assembled. From Rod ‘Toast’ Jones to Joe King, as in you must be to put him covering Jerry Rice, Tampa Bay fans need not look to far to figure out why they couldnt win during those magical double digit losing [...]

It was 1994, and the new kid on the block, FOX, spent more money than CBS and outbid them for the rights to the NFC football TV rights.
And oh how the broadcast has changed over time. The crew is pretty much still intact, although Jimmy Johnson took a time out and coached Miami for a bit. Also James Brown left to go BACK to CBS and Curt Menefee took over in his place. DE Michael Strahan has added another voice, but look how basic the elements were…. just James Brown and Terry Bradshaw are featured, as the NFL was so used to having a two man show. [...]

Q: How long did the Bucs have losing seasons in Tampa Bay?
Karen Stilletou, Palm Harbor,FL
A: Im assuming you mean the big stretch of losing years that Bucs fans like myself had to endure without message boards to bash the team, coaches, and players with like Negative Nancys do today simply over ONE year?
Tampa Bay started out as a losing franchise because of the rules of the NFL in 1976, and went 0-14 and 2-14 in their first two years. Then the Bucs went to the playoffs for 3 of the next 4 seasons. But in 1983, Doug Williams was allowed to leave the Bucs for the USFL, and Tampa Bay had to endure 14 straight losing seasons. 12 of them were double digit losing seasons from '83 to '94, then in 1995 the double digit streak was broken with a 7-9 year. Tony Dungy came on board in 1996 but the Bucs had to learn a whole new system and went a little backwards going 6-10 before the turn around happened in 1997 when Tampa Bay got to experience a 10-6 campaign and did not have another losing year until 2003!
