DAILY FANTASY FIX: Week 8 The Chalk still prevails

Welcome to the first DFS article on the NEW! Bucstop.com; Saturday night and you should have a pretty good idea of who you want in your lineups.

Nothing new for week 8 that you havnt seen all season long, the Chalk plays have dominated all year long, making cash games the way to make money in 2016.

But if you want that big payday, and your entering your lineups in the tournaments, try some of the contrarian picks below to separate yourself from the pool.

QB- Alex Smith- Smith has gone over 20 pts only once, week one vs San Diego, so he’ll be low fdlogo-social-2248d2owned…but week 8 he goes up against a weak Colts defense that allows the 5th most points to opposing QBs. Don’t play Chiefs WRs as Colts are No 7 against WRs, instead Kelce TE should have a good day as Indianapolis is 6th worst in giving up points to the Tight End. Also Spencer Ware will be the main back and he loves to take swing passes to the house, all credited to Smith.

RB Green Bay’s Ty Montgomery (On FAN DUEL)- On FD he is listed ONLY has a Running back, so this is your chance to stack Rogers, Montgomery at RB, and THREE MORE WIDE RECEIVERS!! He may line up at RB but you know Rogers will be throwing to him too. As an RB, he will be low owned on FD, but probably higher on Draft Kings with that full PPR.

WR Buffalo Bills Justin Hunter: Watkins and Salas have been out, and now Goodwin is out too. Woods is hobbled, but when everyone sees he is starting without Goodwin, everyone will be on Woods. If he is as bad as reported, he probably wont get many looks, but Hunter has 3 TDs on the year in the three games he’s played in….in only 4 targets! Thats a .5 TD to target ratio- and ownership should be 1-2%.

TE Cameron Brate Tampa Bay: Brate was hot stuff weeks ago, but the balls have all gone to Mike Evans, when Winston is passing. Lately Bucs have been pounding Jacquizz Rodgers into the line 30 times a game. Against the Raiders, who are 7th worst in giving up points to the Tight End, Brate should come into the mix again in a game the  Bucs may have to either pass to catch up or pass out of 2 TE sets. Winston loves him some Brate…and you will too.

K  With Chalk being KING in 2016 DFS, its the kicker and defense that are separating the pack. You want a home kicker, going up against a good defense, favored by less than 5 points. Everyone will be on Adam Vinatieri. But YOU will be on Dan Bailey of the Cowboys. The Eagles have a good D, Cowboys are a 4.5 favorite at home, and Baily averages 9.5 pts per game. A couple long ones and some extra points and you could be one more winning FG away from being the top 5 kicker on the day.

Defense: Atlanta Falcons- No, that is not a typo. Atlanta will be low owned, probably less than 1%, because of the matchup against Aaron Rogers and the Green Bay Packers. Pardon me one second….OOOOOOO IM IMPRESSED!  No Im not, Green  Bay is not the Green Bay Packers anymore, and nor is Rogers. He hasn’t thrown for 300 yards yet at home, much less on the road. Lacy is out. Starks is out. The running backs will be a guy picked up two weeks ago and the 4th string wide receiver. Meanwhile the Falcons have scored double digits on defense in 3 of the last 5 games, the two they didn’t were at Seattle and @ Denver where they got 9!

stacked_fullcolor_notaglineDRAFTKINGS Contrarian play of the week: Terrell Pryor Sr. – Catches rule on Draftkings, and everyone will be on the chalky WR in the early games like Julio, Evans, or RBs like Riddick who is back….but with Pryor on the injury report better part of two weeks, and Josh McCown starting, 7-10 catches is not out of the question for Pryor, and thats 10 pts right there! He’s 6100 on DK, and the 4 WR around him, are Edelman, D. Thomas, Maclin (whom everyone STILL PLAYS for no reason) and Fuller.  Pryor will have lower ownership than those guys, and could pull in 20-25 pts.

Chalk: A play that is very likely to be used, as it would be on a big chalk board saying PLAY ME! Tom Brady is chalk. So is Mike Evans. Ryan Fitzpatrick is NOT Chalk. Russell Shepard is NOT Chalk. Chalk play is perfect for CASH Games, not so much for Tournaments.

Contrarian: Playing someone using OUTSIDE THE BOX thinking… going with your diamond in the rough..someone with LOW ownership to use in Tournaments to separate yourself from the field.

CASH GAMES; Any game that is 50-50 where half of the field wins. All winners win the same amount of money.

TOURNAMENTS: Games where usually top 15-20% win, with sliding scale finishing with top prize at NO.1.
